The Story

It’s funny how the smallest things have the largest impacts on us. Aaron and Lisa met at work. After several years of working out of different offices, and hardly ever interacting, they were both assigned to the same project in late 2009. As with any project, there were many meetings to be had. Pretty soon they were quite comfortable with one another, and the tone of the meetings gained a little flirting and a lot of giggling. After several months of witty banter, Aaron decided venture to the far away land of Cleveland to see about this girl he’d grown quite fond of.

It was March of 2010 when Aaron flew to Cleveland, to 15 inches of snow… Coming from Texas he had no winter coat to bring, so one of the first outings was to the mall. During the week long adventure there were dinners, movies and getting to know each other outside of work. They went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Little Italy, the Chocolate Bar, and too many other places to name. At every turn they had something else in common. They both knew there was no going back.

The entire year of 2010 was a whirlwind of events and emotions. Frequent flier accounts skyrocketed as they flew back and forth as often as possible. Phone dates filled the gaps between visits. Friends and family could see that they had found something special. As the year continued, they knew they wanted something more. In the winter of 2010, Aaron asked Lisa if she would move to Texas. Lisa was thrilled with the idea and started making plans as quickly as possible. In February of 2011, they got into Lisa’s car and started a 3 day journey to Texas. Staying true to themselves, there was no real plan. They visited every tourist attraction along the way and Pricelined hotels from the car whenever they got tired.

Removing the distance from the relationship made it progress even faster. The two discussed their future more and more, and the talk of marriage would come up in conversation. They knew they wanted to be together.

On January 20, 2012 Lisa’s two best friends were in town for the weekend. With the help of the folks of Master Pancake Theatre and the Alamo Drafthouse Ritz, Aaron was able to pull off the proposal of a lifetime. A month later the date was set and the wedding planning had begun.

Now, Aaron and Lisa are looking forward to all of the adventures that lie ahead of them for the rest of their lives.

And they lived happily ever after…
